“I wanted to paint a quintessentially English County cricket festival ground. Because of health and safety I wasn’t allowed to sit on the roof of the College buildings at Cheltenham, so instead the groundsman organised for me to go up in a cherry picker. We had it at it’s maximum height, which took me to about half way up the side of the College Chapel. I couldn’t have picked a better angle!” Jack Russell MBE
