“This painting was commissioned as a retirement present for Ken Schofield, the outgoing Chief Executive of the PGA European Golf Tour. Colin Montgomery, Ian Poulter and other European Tour golfers all chipped in for the leaving present. Ken has been a life long cricket lover, and big fan of the Bedser twins Alec and Eric. So we secretly arranged a presentation for Ken at Woburn Abbey, with the Bedser twins, myself and the golfers. A few days before Europe had just won back the Ryder Cup from the Americans on American soil. The triumphant Ryder Cup team flew straight in for Ken’s presentation, a little bleary eyed and holding tightly onto the Cup! What an amazing night that was!” Jack Russell MBE
